- December 2018
Following the success of our Harvard Tech event in February 2018, Dublin was invited to host Cities Today’s “20-20: the Club for Urban Leaders” sponsored by MasterCard City Possible. The 20-20 club, comprising city decision-makers from around the world, including deputy mayors, CIOs, CTOs and Smart City Leads, provides a valuable network to share knowledge, learning and experiences.
A truly global event, representatives from 17 cities visited Dublin to take part in the urban innovation themed 2-day meeting, including city officials from Amsterdam, Aurora, Athens, Belfast, Dublin, Ghent, Greenwich, Helsinki, Leipzig, Limerick, Lisbon, Liverpool, London, Prague, San Diego, Toronto and Zagreb.
We were delighted to facilitate a half-day session on Smart Docklands, hosted by Dogpatch Labs, where we shared lessons from our programme, showcased the work of our industry partners Dense Air, Ubicquia and Big Belly Bins, and networked with our international colleagues.
Closing the event at Hibernia Reit’s 1 Windmill Lane, a joint key note from David Graham (CIO, Carlsbad) and David Ricketts (Innovation Fellow, Harvard TECH) focused on the subject of Future City Trends. From 5G readiness to driving data-led decision-making, common challenges and opportunities exist across all cities. The 20-20 meetings provide an invaluable opportunity for decision-makers to come together, share experiences and exchange practical advice as we all seek to deliver smart, sustainable and inclusive cities for our communities.
Big thanks to our partners at the Marker Hotel, Google, CHQ, Hibernia REIT and Dogpatch Labs who hosted throughout the event.
